Anna Maria Shinnyo Marradi is the Founder and Abbot of Shinnyoji Sōtō Zen Temple in Florence, the Italian Seat of the Daijōji Monastery in Kanazawa, Japan. She received the Dharma Transmission from Rev. Ryūshin Azuma Rōshi, former 72nd Abbot of Daijōji. She is Kokusai fukyōshi, Missionary Master of Sōtō Zen; Minister of Worship of the Italian State; member of the DIM (Interreligious Monastic Dialogue) Italy. Curator with Ikuko Sagiyama and Aldo Tollini of the essays La dimensione mondana e il distacco. Zen e le altre tradizioni religiose a confronto (Mimesis, 2022); author of L'eco della valle.
