Events 16th Permanent Seminar on Nishida Philosophy "A Psychological Approach to the Philosophy of the Kyoto School"
February 20th, 2026. 16:00~18:30 JST
Nanzan Institute for Religion and Culture Room 217
Some concepts produced by philosophers of the Kyoto School have been able to transcend the limits of academic philosophy and hybridize with other disciplines. A famous example is the encounter with psychoanalytic thought, and in particular we can mention the figure of Bin Kimura. In previous seminars here at the Institute, the relationship between Nishida's thought and psychotherapy has already been addressed. This time, we will focus especially on the relationship between Nishida and Winnicott.
