Nishida Kitaro and Architecture. Using Nishida’s philosophy in architectural contexts is fruitful because at the center of his work is the concept of basho, a “topological field.” Nishida’s philosophy can be traced in the work of Arata Isozaki, Togo Murano, Tadao Ando, Kengo Kuma, Yoshio Taniguchi, Hiroshi Sugimoto, or Toyō Itō.
