Events Nishitani Keiji Workshop on the Philosophy of Religion Third Session – Nishitani Keiji: “Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and Meister Eckhart”

The workshop will be held on the topic of “Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and Meister Eckhart”. The main reference will be the 1938 text 「ニイチェのツァラツストラとマイスター・エックハルト」taken from Volume 1 of Nishitani’s Collected Works, pp. 5-32 (English translation in “Nietzsche’s Zarathustra and Meister Eckhart,” translated by S. P. K. Cerda and Hiroshi Abé. In Ian Alexander Moore, Eckart, Heidegger, and the Imperative of Releasement (pp. 195–218). SUNY Press.). The goal will be to analyze the interpretation of Nietzsche and Eckhart, contextualizing and elaborating it in relation to Nishitani’s own thought. All participants, in person and connected remotely, are invited to actively participate in the discussion after each presentation.
