Specialization: Shugendō, anthropology of religion, women’s studies
I am currently a PhD Student in Asian Studies at University College Cork under the IRC Postgraduate Scholarship Programme, and I previously received my MA in Religions of Asia and Africa at SOAS University of London under the CSJR (Centre for the Study of Japanese Religions) Postgraduate Student Bursary.
My research focuses on the role of female practitioners in the Shugendō tradition and their influence on contemporary Japanese society. In particular, my project aims to reconsider the perspective of gender in anthropology and religious studies.
